Good news for all you pennypinchers

who didn’t want to pay for the hardcover. Manufacturing Depression will  be out in paperback in two weeks. The publisher changed the cover, which makes me sad, although not depressed. Instead of that wonderful Magritte painting, there are pills, well actually one pill, on the cover. Seems that you can’t sell a book about depression without making it into a book about drugs. I’m not changing the cover that is on this site, but here’s what it looks like.

i just picked up your book in paperback and i have to say, as a person who has suffered with black, debilitating depression for most of her life (and who about a year ago, stopped taking anti-depressants because they did not work), your book is amazing! it is giving language to something that i’ve thought but been unable to articulate for a long time and i am most grateful for it. while reading your book, i feel understood and a little vindicated. i’m going to give it to my well meaning, anti-depressant pushing former therapist. i think it is the most important book about having and treating depression that i’ve read, well, maybe ever. so thank you!!!!!!
